Contract Expansion With ArcelorMittal, Piracicaba, Brazil.

SMS is pleased to announce an award to expand the existing contract at the ArcelorMittal steelmaking facility in Piracicaba, Brazil. 

SMS do Brasil, a Brazilian affiliate of Scrap Metal Services, started operations on the site in 2020, investing over USD10MM for a multi-year contract.  Services included slag management, scrap handling, and other logistics.  After less than two years of operation, ArcelorMittal decided to expand its partnership with SMS by adding additional scrap processing activities that require a further USD6MM of investment in the facility.

This award further demonstrates ArcelorMittal’s commitment and trust in SMS and the significant performance improvements that SMS has brought to them since Day 1 of this partnership.

SMS Mill Services Partners With IMCG

Scrap Metal Services, LLC (SMS) & SAS Groupe IMCG (IMCG) are today announcing that they have have signed an exclusive full operating partnership to strategically provide joint services in the Americas.

This will expand the current services offered by SMS Mill Services, a subsidiary of Scrap Metal Services, and it will position SMS to provide a unique solution of steel products conditioning and give presence to IMCG in the American markets.
IMCG, is well known, as a European manufacturer of highly technology equipment for slab, billets and ingots conditioning and SMS is a world-wide American headquartered services provider in the Metals Industry.

Both companies are extremely respected in their core business and have decided to join their best efforts to develop a new and more effective business approach aiming launch a new era in the steel conditioning business.
